LYNCHBURG, Va. – Lynchburg Regional Airport (LYH) is proud to celebrate a major achievement by its airline partner, American Airlines, as the Lynchburg station has been named a recipient of the prestigious Customer Cup for fourth quarter 2025.

This marks the fourth time LYH has earned the Customer Cup distinction within its category, recognizing excellence in operational performance, safety, and overall customer experience. The award highlights the dedication and teamwork of the airline’s local staff who consistently deliver high-quality service to travelers in the Lynchburg region.
The Customer Cup is a quarterly recognition program by American Airlines that honors top-performing stations across its network. Winners are selected based on key performance metrics including departure and turn dependability, baggage handling, and customer feedback related to the overall airport experience.
“This recognition speaks volumes about the commitment to excellence demonstrated by the team serving Lynchburg,” said Airport Director Cedric Simon, “Delivering a reliable and enjoyable travel experience is a shared priority, and we are proud to see that effort recognized at a national level.”
American Airlines’ success at LYH is built on a strong and enduring partnership. American Airlines—and its predecessor, US Airways—has provided consistent, direct service from Lynchburg to Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) for over a decade. Since 2011, this route has served as a vital connection for Central Virginia travelers, offering access to a global network of destinations through one of the airline’s key hub airports.
“Having a partner like American Airlines, with such a long-standing presence in our community, makes achievements like this even more meaningful,” added Mr. Simon. “Together, we are committed to maintaining and enhancing the travel experience for our passengers.”
Lynchburg Regional Airport remains dedicated to strengthening its airline partnerships and continuing to provide safe, reliable, and customer-focused air service to the region.
